NFL Week 11: Important Games for the Browns

facebooktwitterreddit

The Cleveland Browns take on the Houston Texans this weekend in a Sunday 1PM kickoff. That game is obviously the most important of NFL Week 11 for the Browns but a few others also should have the attention of Cleveland fans:

Thursday Night

Buffalo Bills Vs. Miami Dolphins

The Browns own the Bills first round pick and should be rooting for as many losses as possible. The Bills are also only one game behind the Browns in the playoff battle. Those two combined make that game important for Browns fans to watch. That game is on tonight on the NFL Network.

The Dolphins also sit at 5 – 4 but have some reported fighting between the offensive coaches and players. The home team has done very well in Thursday Night Football and Browns fans will be rooting for more of the same. Can the Bills continue to ride Kyle Orton? Will the Dolphins take advantage of the Bills travelling on a short week and dominate?

Sunday 1PM

Cincinnati Bengals Vs. New Orleans Saints

After getting destroyed by the Browns on Thursday Night Football, the Bengals had a few extra days to lick their wounds. Now they travel down to the Big Easy where it is never easy to play inside the dome. Can Andy Dalton rebound? How healthy will the Bengals be after missing all of those starters last week?

The Saints also are coming off a loss but still own a lead in their division, at 4 – 5. Home cooking always does the team well but can Rob Ryan’s defense cause enough havoc for Dalton, without blowing coverage at the same time? Will Brees and the potent offense get on track after a bad showing against the 49ers?

A Saints win would do a ton of good for the Browns.

Monday Night Football

Pittsburgh Steelers Vs. Tennessee Titans

How this game was decided on as the Monday Night game is beyond me. The Steelers looked off early in the season only to go on an offensive tear before falling to the lowly New York Jets. It is unlikely that the veteran team overlooks a bad team two weeks in a row but playing away from Heinz Field is at least helpful to the Browns cause.

More from Dawg Pound Daily

The Titans have not been able to figure things out this season. They gave the Browns a very tough game but still fell. Their run game has been lacking and Zach Mettenberger hasn’t shown that he can be the answer to the problems at the QB spot. The Titans are a tough team and Ray Horton has history with the Steelers. There is faint hope that the Titans can make MNF interesting.

Baltimore Ravens – Bye Week

Results – A win by the Browns keeps them in first place while  Bengals loss and Steelers win, both likely outcomes, Would move the Steelers into 2nd place in the division with their Bye Week. A Bills loss could bump the pick the Browns get, in both the 1st and 4th rounds, up a couple spots as well.

We know who we are rooting for, and against this weekend, and can only hope for a miracle Monday Night.

What do you expect to happen in these games this weekend?
