Breaking: Tashaun Gipson Upgraded to Probable
The Cleveland Browns have a big game against the Houston Texans tomorrow and it looks like star safety Tashaun Gipson will be playing:
Gipson is a huge piece of the Browns secondary and has been a ballhawk all season. He leads the NFL in interceptions but has also played well in run support as well.
The Texans are likely to be missing their star running back Arian Foster putting a ton of pressure of Ryan Mallett. With Gipson not missing the game, he didn’t miss a game just practice time, Mike Pettine can play a lot of 1 Deep Safety looks allowing Donte Whitner to help in the run and short passing game. Mallett has a strong arm but is likely to struggle without a strong running game to give him time in the pocket.

In our conversation with House of Houston, the local site that covers the Texans, it was made clear that the Texans offensive line does a good job in the run game but a poor job of pass protecting. With the statue-esque Mallett this could be a big problem for the Texans and Gipson’s ability to read QBs should take advantage.
Gipson is getting a ton of love in the Pro Bowl voting and is a vital cog of what makes the Browns defense go. Great news that he passed his concussion protocol. Hopefully Johnson Bademosi and Jordan Cameron can do the same next week and return at the same time as Josh Gordon.
How big do you think Tashaun Gipson’s availability for this game is?
