Browns Vs Falcons: 4th Quarter Notes

The Cleveland Browns take on the Atlanta Falcons today in a big game for both teams. The Browns are 6 – 4 and just out of the AFC North and Wild Card spots. The Falcons, at 4 – 6, are tied for first place in the bad NFC South. Both teams need a win today so records are out the window.

Can the Browns run the ball and stop the run while making plays with Josh Gordon and somehow stopping the Falcons passing game?

• Falcons driving, mostly by their passing game.
  • Cross midfield with just over 12 minutes left in the game.
  • Browns defense not getting any pressure that makes an impact.
• Matt Ryan‘s deep throw to Julio Jones is broken up by Joe Haden and Tashaun Gipson.
  • Both players down on the field injured.
  • Haden called for a hold, bad call.
  • Gipson seems to have a knee injury.
  • Haden looks like he is okay.
  • Gipson carted off the field.
  • Energy out of the Browns defense.
  • Joe Haden back on the next play.
• Falcons down to the 1 yard line.
  • 2nd and goal after Buster Skrine makes a big tackle on Roddy White near the goal line.
  • Stephen Jackson with the 1 yard TD.

• Browns quickly get to midfield.
  • Isaiah Crowell running and Brian Hoyer passing key a quick 30 yards.
• Huge run by Terrance West gets ball down inside the 10 yard line.
  • West bounces ball outside on a designed inside run for a big first down.
• Hoyer tries to find Josh Gordon in the back of the endzone but Desmond Trufant pulls down the INT.
  • Gordon gave no effort to catch the ball over his head nor to break up the INT.

  • Gordon wide open but Hoyer threw inside with Gordon outside.

  • Falcons near the 50 still.
  • Need about 20 yards for an easy field goal and the win.
  • Falcons have all 3 timeouts.
• Falcons convert on 3rd and 1.
  • Browns still have 3 timeouts as well.
• Browns force a Falcons to kick a 53 yard attempt
