Browns Inactive List: Pierre Desir Active for First Time
The Cleveland Browns Inactive list has some starters and important rotation members on it. It doesn’t even include some of the starters and important rotation guys who are already on the Injured Reserve, or IR-Return, lists, and it is still a big list for the team:
If you are keeping track at home that is our starting ILB and defensive player caller, our Pro Bowl tight end, our ballhawking free safety, our 3rd or 4th CB (and first round pick) and our kickoff return guy. Rodney Smith and Vinston Painter are regulars on this list. One interesting story line is that rookie 4th round corner Pierre Desir will be active, and likely used, today for the first time:

Long time readers know that this writer is a big fan of Desir. While the Browns planned to basically redshirt him this year, he is now forced into action. He is a big, raw corner who could have a big impact in the next few years. With his size and ball skills I thought he could play some free safety for the Browns this season. It is possible Mike Pettine is looking for ways to use him that doesn’t create big problems for the team.
