Huge News: Karlos Dansby Returns to Practice

facebooktwitterreddit

The big news of the day is that Karlos Dansby returned to practice today for the Cleveland Browns, not that Brian Hoyer is still the starting quarterback:

Dansby is the quarterback of the defense and is a great all around player. His contributions to the Browns run defense are immense but he also has the speed and football IQ to impact in the passing game through coverage and blitzing.

Obviously just because he returned to practice does not mean he will be cleared to play this Sunday, we are looking your way Jordan Cameron. That the doctors cleared him to practice, when his injury was a ligament, is a great sign that he should be a god for Sunday’s showdown with Andrew Luck and the Colts.

Dansby’s experience should help as Luck tries to get the Colts in the right plays. A move/counter-move game between Luck and Dansby is likely.

He also will help defend Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen, if the latter can play, in man coverage while providing support in zone on crossing routes by T.Y. Hilton and Reggie Wayne. The Colts have a ton of weapons on offense so Dansby playing could play a huge role in the game.

If he plays his counterpart on the Colts will be former Browns ILB D’Qwell Jackson, who was released and replaced by Dansby.

How important do you think Karlos Dansby is to the Browns defense?
