LeBron James Expected to Watch Johnny Manziel Live Today
The excitement over Johnny Manziel‘s debut in Cleveland is about to be met with the reality of Johnny Manziel’s debut in Cleveland, as the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. LeBron James, the areas favorite son, is expected to watch the Browns take on the in state rival Bengals live from suite shared by Manziel’s agents Erick Burkhardt and Maverick Carter (longtime Cavs fans know Carter very well), according to this NFL.com report:
"Manziel’s business partners and agents Erik Burkhardt and Maverick Carter share a suite at FirstEnergy Stadium, and Cavs star LeBron James is expected to be with them watching the debut of his buddy, Johnny Football.LeBron will be the most famous name in the house, but he won’t be alone. The eyes of the NFL will be on this much-anticipated Battle of Ohio."
For James it is a role reversal, as normally the celebrities come out to see him. For Manziel this could be the start of a very similar treatment to what LeBron has experienced for most of his adult life. The NFL.com report made a very interesting note, attributed to someone inside of the Browns organization:
"“If he’s successful, he’ll be the most famous athlete in the world,” said one member of the Browns organization."

That is a bit of an overstatement, soccer stars tend to rank much higher in athlete popularity the world over. Also intriguing what type of positions they consider a “member of the Browns organization.”
But the hyperbole is not too outrageous. Should Johnny Manziel live up to the hype that we have placed on him, the world will sit up and take notice. In Cleveland he will not walk alone. LeBron James has long been a Manziel supporter and friend. Even the Cleveland Indians have the reigning AL Cy Young Award winner in Corey Kluber.
Stars are aligning in Cleveland. They are also traveling here, most to see LeBron James, but, if Johnny Manziel is everything we hope he can be, the Browns could be a hot celebrity ticket as well.
