Browns Fans: Could You Ever Quit the Browns?

facebooktwitterreddit

The Cleveland Browns have some of the best fans, maybe the best fans in the world. Browns fans deal with terrible weather, terrible teams and what some consider terrible uniforms. Yet Browns fans line up, gear up and cheer up for their team. Browns Backers organizations can be found world wide.

I can walk anywhere I have been in the United States in my Browns gear and I can count on being stopped by a fellow fan. Whether it is the general “Go Browns” or “Nice hat where did you get it?” or “I have that same jersey” Browns fans are a friendly, loving bunch.

Yet this off-season, for Browns fans anything after they are eliminated from the playoffs, Browns fans have already had to deal with so much. Josh Gordon was suspended and we may have seen the last of him. Johnny Manziel did or didn’t throw a party but was out late with friends leading to a fine, talked about changing his ways, then was out at a club the same night. The Browns other first round pick was basically suspended for the last game of the season as well.

Now the Browns might have to start all over again at the most important position on the field and without their most talented skilled position player. They have cap space, but no free agent quarterbacks are sure fire starters. They have draft picks, just not high enough for a Franchise Guy, and most aren’t sure either Marcus Mariota or Jameis Winston is. Also, based on GM Ray Farmer‘s short history, will the Browns even invest in a top flight wide receiver.

All of that leads to the question that titled this piece: “Could you ever quit the Browns?” (Yes we ask it in the same language people talk about cigarettes, drugs, alcohol, sugar, etc for a reason)

Is there anything that this team could do that could make you want to give up on them and either just stop caring about the NFL or choose another team?

We have heard from many fans generic answers to this question, even though we have never posed it. Many say things about certain players or certain decisions that the team would make but we are guessing that most of them are still here, still watching, still caring.

So answer the question for us, either here in the comment section or on social media: Could you ever quit the Browns?
