WR Randall Cobb

An unlikely free agent for the Browns is Randall Cobb but anything is possible. First is the fact that the Green Bay Packers paid big for Jordy Nelson last year, drafted Devante Adams and Jeff Janis last season and are not known to spend big in free agency. The Pack also have the best QB in the league and could believe that he can make other receivers better instead of paying big for Cobb.

For the Browns Cobb would provide a unique skillset. Cobb can play inside and out and be just as dangerous. He and Andrew Hawkins would be great slot combos, either lined up stacked or opposite each other. Cobb, even though he is smaller, also is an outside threat who can take his man deep or take wide receiver screens to the house.

Cobb has a close relationship with CB Joe Haden and Joker Philips, the Browns new WR coach, was Cobb’s college head coach. He is used to playing in the cold and Cleveland’s nightlife would be a big upgrade over Green Bay, one of few cities that is likely true. Coming to Cleveland isn’t the best case scenario for Cobb but he could choose money and opportunity, he will always be overshadowed by Rogers and Nelson, over some other teams.

The Browns would likely look for a bigger receiver in the NFL Draft if they go with Cobb in Free Agency. DeVante Parker, Kevin White, Amari Cooper, Devin Funchess or even TE Maxx Williams would fit great with Cobb.

Unlikely, we know.
