NFL Mock Drafts are often both fun and frustrating for fans and writers alike. Many fans don’t understand how long it takes to think through and write-up a full 1st Round NFL Mock Draft or a full 7 Round NFL Mock Draft for a specific team. I can say that because I had no clue. Starting with a blank canvas can be very tough. It is much easier just to start with what someone else has done and critique.

On the other hand Mock Drafts are a lot of fun and excitement, especially for Cleveland Browns fans as they look forward to how their team might develop. The Browns actually have a decent roster but have been snake bit by constant change over and lack of a Franchise quarterback to build around. Those two often are connected problems. So as we go into the upcoming NFL Draft, the Browns don’t have as many holes as many people think.

The Browns defense is good but needs to get more stout upfront at stopping the run. Getting John Hughes back from injury and signing Randy Starks will help that but getting a big nose tackle would be optimal. Another pass rusher also seems to be on the Browns mind for the defensive side of the ball, striking out on Trent Cole really hurt. Depth in the secondary and long term replacements for Karlos Dansby and Donte Whitner are also on the menu. So four defensive players drafted, out of the 10 picks the Browns have, would make sense.

The offense is also not in terrible shape. No one knows what Johnny Manziel might become and the Browns are likely not letting their fortunes ride on the guy in rehab. The offensive line is good to great but Alex Mack and Mitchell Schwartz can be free agents after the season so getting a player this year would be helpful. The Browns lack a tight end of note and need to find a #1 type receiver that can have an impact this year while still developing over time. So at least 4 picks used on the offensive side of the ball would be good.

We often use FanSpeak’s Mock Draft Simulator to help us with Browns only NFL Mock Drafts. It has gotten even better as our good friend Matt “Mr. NFL Draft Scout” Miller now has his Big Board up to be used. Miller puts a ton of work into his board and, while not the same as others, is reasonable.

So today we give you our 4 Round Cleveland Browns NFL Mock Draft using Miller’s board:
