New Browns Uniforms to Have 9 Color Combos Per Whitner

Donte Whitner has given us a little preview of the new Cleveland Browns uniforms. Whitner tweeted out earlier today that he was on his way to be the first to see the new unis. Later he came out with this:

Now it is possible that Whitner is using hyperbole but fans should be excited about how excited he is. The Browns uniforms, while classic, have lacked any kind of excitement. Fans’ expectations are at an all time low after the recent “new logo” reveal which was a new shade of orange and a “meaner” Dawg logo.

It will be interesting to see what 9 combinations means. In the simplest form, 9 combinations could just mean 3 jerseys and 3 pants that could mixed and matched. It is unlikely that Whitner would get so excited about that as the Browns have had those options for years. It is possible that the Browns have a variety of jersey tops and pants that Whitner loves together.

The hope is that, like Oregon football, that the uniforms can create some excitement among the fanbase. There is also the common phrase players often say “Look Good Play Good.” The Browns are hopeful that it will push sales. Most Browns fans have had the same gear for years. You will see most fans in gear from years ago.
