The Cleveland Browns had tight end Rob Housler in for a visit and according to multiple reports he will be signing with the team:
Housler seemed like he was using teams in the AFC North as leverage. He met with the Ravens and Bengals as well. According to one report Housler will be signing for more than the minimum:
For the Browns that is no big deal. They have a lot of cap space and a one year deal for up to $2 million really doesn’t impact anything moving forward.
Housler replaces Jordan Cameron as the Browns move tight end. The team is looking for a player that can help stretch the defense, catch passes and block on the edge. Housler, like Cameron, has had some injury concerns but is athletic enough that he could fill the Browns need well.

Adding a tight end that could fill a starting role means the Browns only miss this off-season has been at OLB. They pushed for Trent Cole but he signed with the Colts. The Browns upgraded their WR group with Dwayne Bowe and Brian Hartline, their defensive line with Randy Starks and their defensive backfield with Tramon Williams. Josh McCown was one of the best of a limited crop at QB, the Browns signed him as well.
Housler also helps as the TE crop in the NFL Draft is very weak.
