New Browns Uniforms: 9 Current, 9 Former Players to Model

facebooktwitterreddit

The new Browns uniforms are going to get the royal treatment tomorrow night. The Cleveland Browns just announced that 9 current and 9 former players will be modeling the new uniforms tomorrow night. That is a lot of star power, many teams have 2 to 4, for the unveiling of the new Browns uniforms.

There have been some possible leaks of what the uniforms will look like but nothing certain. Donte Whitner said there will be 9 color combinations and that they are amazing:

He will be one of the current players modeling for us tomorrow night, according to the Browns official site:

"The list of nine players who will model the jerseys are: Joe Thomas, Donte Whitner, Karlos Dansby, Barkevious Mingo, Dwayne Bowe, Brian Hartline, Armonty Bryant, Chris Kirksey and Taylor Gabriel."

It is an interesting group of players. Thomas, Mingo, Bryant, Kirksey and Gabriel have only played for the Browns. Whitner and Dansby came over last year in free agency. Then you have Bowe and Hartline, two fresh free agent signings that we will get our first glimpses of in Browns gear.

That Joe Haden is not on the list is surprising. Haden, along with Thomas, has been the face of the franchise for a few years, is signed to a long term contract and is a style guy. Maybe schedules got in the way but we expected to see his name here.

Nine alumni also will be walking in the new uniforms:

"Nine different alumni will also stroll down the orange carpet Tuesday, including Hall of Famer Jim Brown, Greg Pruitt, Hanford Dixon, Jamel White, Dan Fike, Bob Golic, John Thierry, Felix Wright and Kevin Mack."

Most of those are names you know, if you don’t we suggest a quick Google search. We are most excited to see Brown, Dixon and Mack but the others hold a special place in Browns history.

With the number of reps at 9 current and 9 former, it looks like Whitner was right on about color combinations.

What do you think about the new Browns uniforms being worn first by this group?
