Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel is trading city life in downtown Cleveland for the quiet solitude of the suburbs, according to Jeremy Fowler at ESPN.com.

Manziel had been living in one of the luxury apartments at the Metropolitan at The 9, where, according to its website, “residents can choose from 104 spacious Concierge Living apartments. There are 16 custom-designed Sky Suites with massive windows that provide panoramic views of downtown Cleveland.

“All residences within The 9 will have full access to the Metropolitan Hotel’s guest services including an indoor dog park, 24-hour housekeeping, valet, private chef and concierge services, spa and gym. Bellmen at The 9 have intuitive technology to recognize and anticipate the needs of residents and visitors.”

In the latest step along the way to getting his life and football career back on track, Manziel has reportedly traded that for life at a golf course community on the city’s West Side.

Manziel’s former downtown home was the site of an early morning altercation with a fan, Chris Gonos, who may been a little too enthusiastic in approaching Manziel at 2:36 in the morning. Following the incident, Gonos made a public apology.

Manziel’s reported move to the tranquility of a golf community comes just a few days after teammate Joe Thomas told NFL Media’s Andrea Kremer that he has seen a change in Manziel since the second-year quarterback was completed his stay in rehab.

“The way he is now is night and day from last year with his commitment, and he’s got a bright future ahead of him,” Thomas said, remarking that Manziel now spends his Saturdays studying the playbook and watching film instead of riding “a swan in a swimming pool drinking champagne It’s apparent he’s realized how important football is to him. He’s realized you can’t get away with those things anymore.”
