Daily Dawg Tag: Browns fans behaving badly?
By Thomas Moore
Spanning the virtual globe to bring you the best of Cleveland sports – from the Browns to the Indians and Cavs – these are your Daily Dawg Tags for Thursday, June 16.
Cleveland Browns:
- Cleveland Browns fans need to be there for the game – How many times have you attended a Cleveland Browns game and shared a space in FirstEnergy Stadium with fans who pay no attention to the game?
- Why this is Barkevious Mingo’s last chance – One of those big changes in the NFL is the expectancy to go from college to the pro’s and be able to contribute right away. Barkevious Mingo falls right into that category.
- It’s put up or shut up time for Browns defense (NEOMG) – After another offseason in which major assets were allocated to improving the defense, one question persists heading into training camp: If not now, when?
- 5 reasons the Browns could be the NFL’s big turnaround team (DPN) – This summer has been full of nothing but quietly positive story-lines for the Browns. How does all of this translate to wins though?
NFL News:
- Cowboys sign Dez Bryant to $70 million contract (The Landry Hat) – The Dallas Cowboys are apparently on the edge of locking up the most talented player on their roster for many years to come.
- Broncos sign Demaryius Thomas to five-year deal (Predominantly Orange) – The Broncos and Demaryius Thomas have agreed on a five-year, $70 million dollar contract.
- Titans won’t budge in contract talks with Marcus Mariota (NFL Spin Zone) – Marcus Mariota remains the only first-round pick without a contract, and that stems from an unwillingness from both his representation and the Titans to budge about potential offset language in a contract.
Cleveland Sports:
- Cavs and Matthew Dellavedova struggling on new deal (Factory of Sadness) – The Cleveland Cavaliers and guard Matthew Dellavedova have yet to agree to a new deal because of the luxury tax implications.
- Options for the Tribe at the trade deadline (Wahoo’s on First) – Given the current playoff landscape in baseball, there is unlikely to be a significant offensive difference-maker available for the Tribe to pursue this year.
