The Browns will be at Ohio Stadium in Columbus on Friday evening for the annual Orange and Brown scrimmage.

According to the team’s website, the first-team offense and the first-team defense will face each other, as will the second-team offense and second-team defense.

“We’ll do some 7-on-7 work and some crossover work with the line,” Pettine said. “Some one-on-one blocking and maybe some group protection stuff to get them some reps there. All of the coaches submitted their plan for their guys and it’s up to coordinators to put that together. I think that’s tentatively, now, what the plan is.”

Pettine also said that Manziel will see some time with the first team offense on Friday to give starting quarterback Josh McCown some rest, so that’s nice.

“You want to mix up the supporting cast,” Pettine explained. “Josh will not go with the twos, but guys competing to be your No. 2 quarterback – it happens every season – he’s going to have to play with that group. You don’t want the first time to be in a game. I wouldn’t read too much into it that he’s going with the ones. Josh right now is firmly the one, but don’t be surprised at some point during camp you maybe see Thad (Lewis) maybe even Connor (Shaw) with that group as well.”

The NFL Network will televise the scrimmage live starting at 6 p.m. with Inside Training Camp Live with the Browns, which will include analysis from Mike Mayock and Solomon Wilcots. NFL Network subscribers can watch online at NFL.com/nflnetwork.
