So, waking up this morning I noticed scrolling through my Twitter feed that the Cleveland Browns have done a little wheeling and dealing. Bringing in veterans Everette Brown and Aaron Ross.
The team announced the signings on their website.
Ross, was a former first-round pick by the New York Giants in 2007. Helping the team raise the Lombardi trophy twice. His best season came in the Giants 2011 super bowl season, when he collected four interceptions and 60 combined tackles. His issues have mainly been about injury. His last season in 2013 with Big Blue, lasted only four games.
Brown on the other hand, is a former second-round pick by the Carolina Panthers, who never really panned out. Bouncing around to three different teams, following his two-year stay in Carolina.
Both moves come as a surprise, the Ross signing more than the other considering their depth at the position. Maybe it was done to light a fire under the younger cornerbacks on the roster? That’s my only explanation at this point. Interesting signings here.
