The Cleveland Browns made six roster moves today, trimming players as the team works toward the NFL mandated limit of 75 players by Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Waived by the Browns were tight end Anthony Ezeakunne and wide receiver Shane Wynn. The team also “terminated the contracts” of linebackers Everette Brown and Moise Fokou, running back Jalen Parmele and defensive back Aaron Ross.
General manager Ray Farmer made the announcement via the team’s website.
The release of Wynn is a bit of a surprise as he has shown some flashes of ability during the preseason. Against Buffalo, he was on the receiving end of a 21-yard touchdown pass from Johnny Manziel and returned a punt 57 yards.

The biggest obstacle to Wynn finding a place on the team is that he is basically a duplicate of what Travis Benjamin brings to the field. After seeing Benjamin make some catches and return a punt for a touchdown against Tampa Bay on Saturday, the Browns appear confident that Benjamin has recovered from his knee injury, leaving no room for Wynn.
It will be interesting to see if Wynn catches on with another team or makes a reappearance in Berea as a member of the Browns’ practice squad.
As for the other moves, none comes as a surprise as each of the released players is at a position where the Browns are already set with depth.
The Browns’ roster is currently at 84 players, meaning the team has to make at least nine more moves by tomorrow afternoon.
