The Cleveland Browns first took on the Tennesse Titans in 1970, when the Titans were still the Houston Oilers and joined the newly formed AFC Central Division.

The teams would meet regularly as division rivals until the NFL realigned in 2002, with the Browns holding a 34-28 lead in the series. The Browns won the first nine meetings against the team, which is still tied for the longest in Tennessee’s franchise history.

When the Browns returned to the NFL in 1999, the Titans won the first five meetings between the two teams. But lately the Browns have turned the tables, winning four out of the past six times the teams have played.

However, the Browns are just 1-4 at home against Tennessee, a bit of a problem since this weekend’s game is at FirstEnergy Stadium. The last time the teams met in Cleveland, Matt Hasselbeck completed a trio of first-half touchdown passes as the Titans rolled to an easy 31-13 win.

Let’s hop into the WABAC machine and take a look at the five best games of all-time between the two franchises. As always, a big tip of the hat to Jonathan Knight’s The Browns Bible for being a great resource.
