The Cleveland Browns released their final injury report before Sunday’s home opener against the Tennessee Titans and the biggest news is that quarterback Josh McCown is out for the game.
McCown was not cleared to practice today as he is still recovering from a concussion sustained in the opener against the New York Jets, meaning the Browns will turn to Johnny Manziel against the Titans.
“Anytime you have a player that can’t play, you’re always going to be disappointed, but Johnny’s had a good week,” head coach Mike Pettine said. “It’s not like Josh practiced and we find out late he can’t go. When a guy goes into the protocol, you have to make the assumption that he’s not going to be back and then react to the news when he is. We’re prepared.”
The fact that Manziel played for three-plus quarters against the Jets and then had a full week of practice with the first-team offense has him about as well prepared as can be expected.

“The game reps, to me, are the most valuable ones that he got,” Pettine said. “Coming out and playing three quarters against New York and then getting a full week and then a lot of the overlap of the Jets practice I already talked about, we were able to carry over a lot of stuff from the end of training camp and from last week so it’s all material that’s he’s very comfortable with.”
As for the rest of the Browns’ injury report, listed as probable for Sunday are guard Joel Bitonio (knee), Manziel (elbow), linebacker Nate Orchard (back) and right tackle Mitchell Schwartz (thumb).
Listed as questionable are wide receiver Dwayne Bowe (hamstring), defensive end Desmond Bryant (shoulder), linebacker Karlos Dansby (foot), and cornerback Justin Gilbert (hip flexor).
Listed as out are McCown (concussion), linebacker Scott Solomon (ankle) and running back Robert Turbin (ankle).
For the Titans, tight end Delanie Walker (hand) is questionable; cornerback Jason McCourty (groin) is doubtful; and running back Antonio Andrews (hamstring), defensive tackle Sammie Hill (knee) and cornerback Cody Riggs (knee) are out.
