5 reasons Johnny Manziel will not start in the near future

The “Johnny” chants rang out through FirstEnergy Stadium on Sunday as Josh McCown led a failed comeback against the Oakland Raiders.

The loss is much more easily blamed on the defense, but it seems like everyone looks at the quarterback when a team in performing poorly.

Blaming McCown for the loss and assuming Manziel is the savior is a misguided sentiment, and one Browns fans have been having since the team returned to Northeast Ohio.

Mike Pettine has made it clear that McCown is the starter for the near future, barring any attempt to injure himself like he did against the Jets.

The Browns may keep losing and Manziel may make his triumphant return to the field, but until then let’s look at why Manziel will remain on the sidelines for weeks to come.
