Cleveland Browns injury report: K’Waun Williams returns

The Cleveland Browns released their first injury report for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens and the good news is that cornerback K’Waun Williams has been cleared to resume practice.

Williams has been out the past two games after suffering his third concussion in less than a year.

“I just have to continue to play the game and be smart,” Williams said on Wednesday.”I know the long-term effects of it, but I just have to be smart and just play the game how I play it.”

The good news about Williams was offset a bit by cornerback Joe Haden being limited as he continues to battle injuries to his finger and rib, and safety Tashaun Gipson being out with an ankle injury.

Speaking of Haden, head coach Mike Pettine took time to address the hoopleheads who questioned Haden missing the game against San Diego.

“I think a lot of that is unwarranted. Some of that I will bear some of that blame, just in detailing the procedure and how it went,” Pettine said. “Joe made the decision based on he didn’t feel he could be 100 percent. He felt it would hurt the team if he played. It is something I have talked about with him and I am comfortable with where we are with it.

“It is unfortunate because Joe is one the faces of our franchise. Nobody questions his toughness, his leadership and how important the Browns are to him and what being a Cleveland Brown means to him and vice versa. I think it is unwarranted.”

As for the rest of the injury report, listed as full participants were Johnson Bademosi (elbow), Duke Johnson (ankle), Johnny Manziel (elbow) and Mitchell Schwartz (thumb).

Listed as limited were Desmond Bryant (shoulder), Karlos Dansby (ankle), Joe Haden (ribs/finger), Scott Solomon (ankle), Robert Turbin (ankle) and K’Waun Williams (concussion).

Players who did not practice included Shaun Draughn (back), Tashaun Gipson (ankle), Craig Robertson (ankle), Randy Starks (rest), Joe Thomas (rest) and Donte Whitner (illness).
