FanSided released a mock draft for the not so near 2016 NFL Draft, and the Cleveland Browns once again find themselves at the top of the draft board.

The FanSided staff has the Browns selecting Alabama defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson with the fourth pick.

The 300+ pounder would help Danny Shelton anchor a defensive line that is in desperate need of help.

The Browns are dead last in the NFL with an average of 151 rushing yards allowed a game. The next closest team? The Miami Dolphins with 132.1 rushing yards a game.

That’s bad. Really bad.

That makes this pick a logical one, but not the pick I would make.

Yes, the run defense is atrocious, but it does not seem like one player will do much to help. I have watched the Browns stop the run with much less talent on defense, so my concern is with defensive coordinator Jim O’Neil. With the way things are now, drafting more bodies will not do much to help this defense.

The Browns desperately need help on offense. Too many skill players have slid past due to a fear of “reaching” too early in the draft.

More specifically, the Browns need help at the wide receiver position.

The first receiver off the board in the FanSided mock draft is Laquon Treadwell of Ole Miss to the Kansas City Chiefs with the ninth pick.

Would it really be that bad to take a chance on a receiver so early in the draft? The Browns took Shelton and the defense got worse. Taking Robinson should do nothing to hurt the defense, but I do not see his presence being something that will result in this defense being in the top-15 in the NFL.

The Browns should take a talent like Treadwell who has proven he is a legitimate threat as a receiver. If he fails, so be it, but at least it would show fans that the Browns are making an effort to improve the offense through the draft.
