Several key players remain injured for the Cleveland Browns.
The Cleveland Browns take on the San Francisco 49ers this afternoon in what may be the Browns last chance to win a game this season.
Johnny Manziel has regained his starting role after being benched for immaturity, but here’s to hoping he can have some success over the next four games.
The depth at wide receiver will not be helping him at all, and it will be interesting to see if he can connect with Terrelle Pryor today. Pryor will be playing in his first game since rejoining the Browns.
The lack of depth starts with Andrew Hawkins and Taylor Gabriel both being inactive. Other inactives include wide receiver/healthy scratch Dwayne Bowe, defensive back Justin Gilbert, defensive back Joe Haden, defensive back Pierre Desir, and offensive lineman Gabe Ikard.
The absence of Haden means rookie defensive back Charles Gaines will stop in his spot. This is a great opportunity for Gaines, but it will be no easy task.
There may be mixed feelings about the final result of today’s game. A loss will further improve the team’s chance of securing the top overall draft pick, while a win would do nothing more than boost morale.
I’m always rooting for a win, but it is hard to deny that it would be nice to have the option of the top overall draft pick.
