Manziel thrives off play-action 

Manziel works under center in a single-back formation. The Browns use the under center formation to sell the run fake. Wide receiver Marlon Moore comes in reverse motion to freeze linebackers on a reverse fake. Manziel also sells a play-action fake to the back Isaiah Crowell.

The play-action freezes the linebackers and safeties, allowing Brian Hartline to run deep down the field. Play-action moves the pocket for Manziel giving him throwing lanes and easier reads.

The Browns sell the play-action perfectly. Hartline runs a post or crossing route across the field and is wide open off of a free release. Manziel has all day in the pocket to throw and is able to make an easy throw for a big gain.
