Report: Joe Thomas ready to be part of Cleveland Browns turnaround
"Good news for Cleveland Browns as left tackle Joe Thomas is reportedly on board with the team’s latest plan to turn the franchise around. Thomas spoke with a reporter from Cleveland TV station WKYC on Saturday during an appearance at a local home and garden show and came out in support of head coach Hue Jackson and the new direction of the team."
Cleveland Browns: 2016 NFL Draft profiles
"The Cleveland Browns finished the 2015 NFL season with a record of 3-13, meaning that they will be picking in the top five of the NFL Draft for the seventh time since 1999 season. And if that wasn’t bad enough, this draft pick will be the 11th time since 1999 that the Browns have made a selection in the top 10. The Browns hold seven draft picks – including the No. 2 overall pick and the first pick in the second round – meaning they should have plenty of opportunities to fix the roster mistakes of former general manager Ray Farmer."
Cleveland Browns: What to do with the second pick in the draft
"The NFL Draft has been the most enjoyable and exciting event for a decade and a half in the case of the Cleveland Browns. It also is the only time of the year Browns fans confidence levels rise to laughable levels and, on an annual basis, plunge back down by week two of the regular season. This year is no different for Cleveland fans and they finally didn’t win meaningless games at the season’s end, something that would only damage their draft positioning."
Cleveland Browns: Hue Jackson keeps filling out his coaching staff
"Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson completed the hiring process for the offensive and special teams members of his coaching staff. The staff now includes assistant offensive line coach Mark Hutson, tight ends coach Greg Seamon, offensive quality control coach Bob Saunders, special teams quality control coaches Shawn Mennenga and Stan Watson. They join previously announced Pep Hamilton, Al Saunders, Kirby Wilson, Hal Hunter and Ray Horton."
Cleveland Browns: Who is the one player that must stay? (Factory of Sadness)
"The Cleveland Browns are once again changing up how they run the football operations side of the organization. As the team goes about their business with a new regime, the hope is that the people in place now can finally get the team back to contending. As the front office makes their numerous decisions, they have to like what is in place despite the losing and certain key areas of need."
"Cleveland Browns Pro Bowl left tackle Joe Thomas is encouraged by the hirings of Sashi Brown and Hue Jackson, but he is more focused on his family than his career at the moment. “I like Hue and I’m excited about the direction of the team,” Thomas said Saturday. “We’ll see how free agency and the draft goes. Other than that I’m not really thinking about my career. I’m just enjoying the family and the offseason.”"
NFL News:
Peyton Manning carried back to Super Bowl by Denver Broncos (NFL.com)
"Marshall Manning was practicing writing his name in marker on the locker-room white board as his father got ready to try to make sense of the oddities of the season that will take him to his fourth and most improbable Super Bowl. A few yards away, John Elway, who has spent the last two seasons trying to construct a team to support an older quarterback as he had been supported himself, offered what passes for high praise for Peyton Manning now."
Sorting the Sunday pile: Super Bowl 50 line, Panthers big favorites (CBS Sports)
"The Carolina Panthers will be pretty large favorites for Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara, Calif., two weeks from now when they take on the Denver Broncos. Vegas is leaning towards Cam Newton and Carolina over Peyton Manning and Denver and making the Panthers 4.5-point favorites after Sunday’s 49-15 NFC Championship Game rout of Arizona."
Super Bowl 50 preview and prediction: Broncos vs. Panthers (FanSided)
"The Carolina Panthers are looking for their first Super Bowl title on February 7. The Denver Broncos are seeking their third. The storyline will mostly be about Peyton Manning, and whether the Broncos 39-year-old quarterback can find one more win and perhaps leave the National Football League on a high note. It’s the wrong narrative."
