Several members of the Cleveland Browns organization spoke with the media in Mobile at the site of the 2016 Senior Bowl.

The 2016 Senior Bowl will be played this Saturday in Mobile, Alabama, and several new faces in the Cleveland Browns organization have been in Mobile throughout the week evaluating talent.

Hue Jackson, Sashi Brown, and Chisom Opara, a Browns scout, all spoke with Andrew Gribble of clevelandbrowns.com about what they are looking for at the event.

Jackson went over the benefits of seeing the players practice, in addition to the game itself, and spoke on how he wants to get to know the players who will be potential draft picks.

The fact that Jackson wants to draft high-character players is great, as Justin Gilbert and Johnny Manziel both showed how poor character can be detrimental to a team. He is making it clear that the Browns will not waste their time with guys who do not take the game of football seriously.

Sashi Brown spoke about the coordination of the entire scouting staff, coming together to check out the talent at the Senior Bowl.

He came off as confident in his staff, who carry the burden of trying to have a good draft for the first time in a long time.

Opara detailed how a scout looks at players at such an event. This involves the physicality shown at practice and also how they perform in the game itself.

He also details how to evaluate a quarterback, which is very interesting for fans curious at how the Browns will target a QB in this year’s draft.

The top QB prospects the Browns will be looking at include California’s Jared Goff, Memphis’ Paxton Lynch, and North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz.

Wentz is a 6-foot-6 quarterback who has risen up draft boards since the end of the college football season. A big game in Mobile will help his stock continue to rise, which may excite or scare Browns fans, depending on their knowledge of Wentz.
