2015 Cleveland Browns Roster Analysis: The receivers
Taylor Gabriel
Age: 24
Experience: 2 years
Contract status: Free agent in 2017
The undrafted Gabriel had a disappointing season compared to his rookie season where he was considered a nice undrafted pickup. This season Gabriel battled through a concussion, which sidelined him for a few games. Additionally, Gabriel had numerous dropped passes on the season. Gabriel saw his numbers significantly drop from his rookie season.
2015 stats:
Gabriel caught 28 passes for 241 yards this season compared to having 621 a season ago.
2016 Outlook:
Gabriel had a disappointing second season compared to a solid rookie season making the team as an undrafted free agent. With a new staff in place Gabriel will have to prove himself in training camp if he wants to make the roster in 2016. The Browns will likely upgrade the receiver position, which will put Gabriel’s roster position in jeopardy.

Simply put Gabriel didn’t make enough plays when given the opportunity. His concussion didn’t help, as it was a disappointing season overall for the receiver.
Andrew Hawkins
Age: 29
Experience: 5 years
Contract status: Free agent in 2018
Hawkins was limited to only eight games this season due to multiple concussions. Hawkins is a shifty receiver who is best operating from the slot. Hawkins signed a 4-year contract in 2014 and will be counted on to have a bounce back season in 2016.
2015 stats:
Hawkins caught 27 passes for 276 yards in his limited action.
2016 Outlook:
Hawkins will be counted on to return to his role of causing matchup problems for defenses with his shifty playmaking ability next season. A healthy Hawkins will provide the Browns with another solid weapon for offensive minded Hue Jackson to work with.
Hawkins was injured for a significant portion of the season and was unable to fully settle into the offense. Hawkins however, will be on his third offense coordinator in as many seasons and will try to return to his shifty playmaking form.
