The Cleveland Browns have made it clear they are done with quarterback Johnny Manziel. Now the team needs to see if there is a trade market for Manziel.

Following his latest incident with the authorities, who reportedly used a helicopter to track him down and investigated him for a possible assault of his former girlfriend, for which no charges were filed, quarterback Johnny Manziel‘s welcome in Cleveland has run out.

The 22nd-overall selection in the 2014 NFL Draft managed to last only two seasons with the Cleveland Browns before they tired of his antics. Earlier this week the team made the rare move to release a statement to say ominously that “[Manziel’s] status with the team will be addressed when permitted by league rules.”

NFL teams can release players starting Monday (the day after the Super Bowl),  but due to salary cap issues the Browns won’t be able to release Manziel until March 9, the start of the new league year. That gives the Browns a month to work the phones and see if they can get something, anything, for the former Heisman Trophy winner.

In a league starved for quarterbacks, there may be a team that thinks they may be able to harness Manziel and return him to the electric phenomenon he was as a Texas A&M Aggie. As unlikely as it may be, the Browns need to see if there is a team  willing to give up a late pick to ensure they don’t lose out on Manziel when he hits the waiver wire.

The Ballad of Johnny Manziel will play no more in Cleveland, but can they convince another team to pick up the tune? Here are five teams the Browns should call to see if they may be interested in acquiring Manziel.
