The Cleveland Browns released Karlos Dansby and Dwayne Bowe on Wednesday and the moves received a mix reaction from fans on Twitter.

The Cleveland Browns made a pair of unsurprising decisions on Wednesday, releasing linebacker Karlos Dansby and wide receiver Dwayne Bowe.

The 12-year veteran was arguably the team’s best defensive player in 2015, finishing the year with 108 tackles, three interceptions (two returned for touchdowns) and two forced fumbles.

“We want to thank Karlos for his service to the Cleveland Browns during the past two seasons,” Browns executive vice president of football operations Sashi Brown said in a team statement. “He was a dedicated, hard-working leader of our defense and we wish him the best as he continues his career.”

Bowe spent one year with the Browns after receiving a contract that guaranteed him $9 million. He appeared in seven games and recorded five receptions for 53 yards.

He also did not receive an outgoing message from Sashi Brown on the team’s website.

Dansby may have been with the Browns for a short time, but he made a mark on the team and with the fans, as the reaction to his release on Twitter revealed:

The feeling toward Bowe was, well, less heartwarming:

The release of Dansby and Bowe is just the latest in a series of moves by the Browns to make the team younger while it goes through its latest rebuilding plan.
