2016 NFL Draft Range: 1st Round

Despite missing all but three games in 2015 after suffering a torn meniscus, Myles Jack showed enough in his previous two seasons to still be considered a top 5 (or at worst top 10) draft pick in the upcoming draft.

His 75 tackles as a freshman were fifth on the team and second among true freshmen in UCLA history to only Kenny Easley. He led the Bruins that year with 11 passes defended and showed his versatility by rushing for seven touchdowns as a two-way player, returning an interception for a touchdown, and blocking a punt. His efforts were rewarded when he was named a finalist for the Paul Hornung Award, given nation’s most versatile player.

The Bruins once again tapped into Jack’s versatility during his sophomore year, dividing his time between outside linebacker, where he finished second on the team in tackles, and at running back, where he averaged four yards per carry and rushed for three touchdowns, while earning Second Team All-Pac-12 honors.

It is at linebacker, however, where Jack is expected to make his mark at the NFL level.

“I wouldn’t get cute with him. I would stick him at WILL and just let him be a free running chaser,” one NFC executive anonymously told NFL.com. “He has the speed to get to everything and his cover talent will set him apart.”
