The Cleveland Browns must improve at the wide receiver position and Josh Doctson is a player who should be looked at come draft night.

Amid the NFL electing to not reinstate Cleveland Browns wideout Josh Gordon due to a recently failed drug test, the team’s largest need just got bigger. Head coach Hue Jackson is firm in his belief that the team is prepared to move on, with or without Gordon (who can apply again for reinstatement come August 1, and upgrading the wide receiver position is a definite need.

The NFL has increasingly seen rookie wide receivers make an immediate impact in recent years and there is no reason think that will change this upcoming season.

Gordon, being the only high-caliber receiver the team has, would certainly be a benefit to have for any NFL offense. Despite the talent Gordon provides, Cleveland is narrowing its sights on a wide receiver as the draft is now just weeks away, preparing as if their former pro bowl receiver won’t be with the team, as they should.

The Browns own the No. 32 and No. 65 overall picks in the draft and are expected to target a receiver with one of those two selections. Many names have surfaced with interest from the Browns from Ohio State’s Michael Thomas to Rutgers’ Leonte Carroo to Baylor’s Corey Coleman. However, TCU’s Josh Doctson has the potential to be the best fit in Cleveland with RG3 and company.
