Cleveland Browns: 5 draft scenarios for 8th pick
"Following last week’s blockbuster trade with the Philadelphia Eagles, the Cleveland Browns now own the eighth overall selection in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, which kicks off Thursday night in Chicago. By trading down six slots, the Browns picked up additional picks – most notably Philadelphia’s first-round pick in 2017 – but also eliminated themselves from having the opportunity to select one of the top two quarterbacks in this year’s draft, as it is expected that Cal’s Jared Goff and North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz will be the top two picks in the draft, respectively."
Rumor: Cleveland Browns interested in Paxton Lynch?
"The 2016 NFL Draft will kick off Thursday night in Chicago, meaning there are just a few days left for rumors and reports to circulate about what the Cleveland Browns will do this weekend. The Browns, currently in the opening stages of their latest rebuilding efforts, are holders of 12 selections in this year’s draft – including six of the draft’s first 100 selections. While the team has numerous holes to fill on the roster, it is highly unlikely that they will use all 12 picks on players."
Cleveland Browns: Can Terrelle Pryor be a top WR in 2016?
"In the 2011 NFL Supplemental Draft the Oakland Raiders used a third-round pick to acquire Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Terrelle Pryor. Pryor would go on to play in 15 games for the Raiders between 2011 and 2014. The Raiders traded him in 2014 to the Seattle Seahawks for a seventh-round pick. The Seahawks would release Pryor prior to the beginning of the season."
Cleveland Browns draft board is “locked in”
"The 2016 NFL Draft does not kick off until Thursday evening, but the Cleveland Browns have reportedly done their homework, finalized their draft board and are ready for the bright lights of Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre. “We’re set, locked in, know who we’ll be taking,” executive vice president of football operations Sashi Brown told the team’s website. “And if that player’s not there, or if we get another offer that just blows our socks off, we’ll know how to react to that.”"
Why the Browns can’t draft Cardale Jones (cleveland.com)
"Watch what happens when Cardale Jones makes his way to a Cavaliers playoff game, if you didn’t see it the first time around when the former Ohio State quarterback showed up for Game 2 last Wednesday. That’s what you want in a star. That’s what you want in a local hero. That’s what you want for a Cleveland kid who led Ohio State to a National Championship and still clings tight to his roots. That’s not what you want in a backup quarterback."
Hue Jackson advocating for Paxton Lynch (Factory of Sadness)
"In a mock draft published just four days before the 2016 NFL Draft, TheMMQB.com’s Peter King predicted the Cleveland Browns will take Notre Dame offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley. But that’s not the real story. That’s the pick King thinks the Browns should make if they stay put at No. 8. But according to King, the Browns still want to trade back because Hue Jackson wants Memphis quarterback Paxton Lynch."

NFL Rumors: Broncos called Eagles about Sam Bradford (FanSided)
"After the Eagles moved up to acquire the No. 2 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, things have quickly gone downhill between the franchise and quarterback Sam Bradford. With several reports about Bradford wanting a trade out of Philadelphia, it seems likely that the Eagles will have to move him at some point."
Johnny Manziel’s attorney says assault indictment to come Tuesday (ESPN)
"Johnny Manziel is expected to be indicted Tuesday on charges that he attacked his ex-girlfriend in January, an attorney for the troubled former NFL quarterback said Monday. Attorney Robert Hinton told ESPN that prosecutors have notified him they expect a local grand jury to sign off on a misdemeanor assault charge for family violence. The Class A misdemeanor carries up to one year in jail and a $4,000 fine."
Tom Brady faces long odds after NFL wins Deflategate appeal (SI.com)
"Tom Brady is legendary for late-game heroics with the odds stacked against him. He better hope his attorneys have that same skill set. On Monday, two of three federal judges assigned to hear the NFL’s appeal of U.S. District Judge Richard Berman’s ruling in favor of Brady ruled to reverse Judge Berman’s decision. Barring a successful new appeal, petition for a stay or a negotiated settlement between the NFL and NFLPA, Brady will sit out the first four games of the 2016 regular season due to his alleged conduct in the Deflategate controversy."
