Cleveland Browns to hold scrimmage at Ohio Stadium
The Cleveland Browns will once again head to Columbus during training camp for a scrimmage at Ohio Stadium.
Fans in Columbus will be treated to some Cleveland Browns football in August when the team heads to Ohio Stadium for the second annual Orange & Brown scrimmage. The news was announced on the team’s official website Wednesday afternoon.
The news came out as part of the announcement of the training camp schedule, which begins July 29.
The team held the scrimmage in Columbus last season and drew 49,734 fans, according to the team’s announcement.
This is an awesome event as it allows Browns fans outside of Cleveland the chance to see the team during training camp. It also allows the players to practice in The Horseshoe, which is a unique experience for players who may not have played in a major conference while in college.

The scrimmage should feature a first look at Robert Griffin III in simulated game action, which should give fans a sense of how much he has improved since he last played in an NFL game in 2014.
The event will also showcase the 14 rookies drafted by the Browns, including the four receivers who are expected to breathe new life into the lackluster group returning from 2015.
The scrimmage comes just six days before the Browns open the preseason against the Green Bay Packers. That will be the first true test of the team’s abilities, but the event at The Horseshoe will be a good warmup for a matchup against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.
The team makes its 2016 preseason home debut against the Atlanta Falcons on August 18 at FirstEnergy Stadium.
The Browns are seemingly entering a new, long-term focused era under Hue Jackson, so training camp should give fans a sign if all the progress is just talk or if Jackson is the coach to turn this team back into a contender.
