Cleveland Browns: Rookies headline latest depth chart

The Cleveland Browns released an unofficial depth chart Tuesday afternoon, giving fans a glimpse at who will start this Sunday in Philadelphia.

The Cleveland Browns front office made it clear during the 2016 NFL Draft that the team would be made up of younger players.

That holds true today after the Browns released the first regular season depth chart, highlighting the 17 rookies who made the 53-man roster.

Rookie receiver Corey Coleman was expected to be a starter, but the surprise comes on the defensive side of the ball, as both Joe Schobert and Emmanuel Ogbah earned starting linebacker spots.

Ogbah has been playing great all preseason, while Schobert starting over Nate Orchard may come as a surprise, although this depth chart could change during the week or even during the opening game itself.

Scooby Wright III, Derrick Kindred and Tracy Howard each find themselves in backup roles, and will surely see a decent amount of playing time Sunday.

The infusion of rookies is a sign the front office wanted nothing to do with the players brought on by Ray Farmer. Between the offseason cuts and those done just recently, this roster is one being molded to fit the desires of the current front office, while also being one that will take a few years to develop under Hue Jackson.

Even with all the rookies on the roster, the offensive line and quarterback positions are filled by players with NFL experience, which should bring some sense of stability to the offense. The defense also has players like Joe Haden and Demario Davis to be leaders, but both sides of the ball with struggle with inexperience all season. It is up to the veterans to limit the mistakes.

This depth chart will continue to change as the season goes on, but the lack of experience on the roster will remain throughout 2016. That was expected heading into the regular season, but few may have predicted just how young this team would be.
