Cleveland Browns football is back!

The Browns are looking to improve upon a 1-16 record in season-openers since returning to the league in 1999. While some may call it hopeless optimism, the Browns have a good shot to pick up that second opening-season win today against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles are starting rookie quarterback Carson Wentz, who is making the jump from FCS college football to the NFL without any time to adjust to the speed of the NFL regular season.

The start of the season is always an exciting time in Cleveland. At least until the losses start piling up. But while the team is still 0-0, it is a time of hope and joy about football being back.

As with every game, certain players on the roster will be inactive today.

Four of the inactive players were taken in this year’s draft, although none of the four are expected to receive much playing time at the outset of the season. And with 17 rookies on the 53-man roster, the inactive list is going to feature young players for the duration of the season.

The beginning of the season also means fans are going to have plenty to say once the game actually begins. We here at Dawg Pound Daily look to keep the conversation going right here throughout the game.

So please comment on this post throughout the game to share your thoughts about what is taking place on the field. Hopefully there is a reason to leave positive comments.
