Browns vs. Giants: 3 takeaways as the Browns fall to 0-12
In a year filled with surprises in Cleveland, the only hope to avoid an 0-16 season may be the man known as RG3.
After going to the injured reserve following an injury in Week 1, Griffin may be set to return in the game against the Bengals following the bye week.
Cody Kessler is dealing with concussion problems, so there is no need to throw him back out there in this lost season. And while McCown continues to struggle, Griffin at least deserves a chance to go out and try to get a win.
Griffin did open the season as the starting quarterback, so clearly Hue Jackson saw something in him that warranted that move. Faith in Jackson may be waning in Cleveland, but it is no secret that Griffin does have the ability to be a solid quarterback. He just needs to find that ability once again.
At 0-12, starting Griffin has no negative effects on the chances of winning. A change may be good for a team that has nearly rock bottom levels of confidence.
So as the Browns desperately try to win a single game in 2016, Griffin may be the savior to accomplish that goal. It is upsetting that things have gotten so bad that a single win would be considered such a big deal, but so it goes in a wild sports year for Cleveland fans.
