Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson was in Columbus today for Ohio State’s Pro Day, but it doesn’t mean a Buckeye is surely headed to Cleveland.

Cue up the Pro Day talk, as Hue Jackson represented the Cleveland Browns today in Columbus for Ohio State’s Pro Day.

This comes after Jackson was absent at the Pro Days of both Deshaun Watson and Mitch Trubisky, yet this is no cause for alarm for fans who want one of the two quarterbacks.

It seems that when it comes to the major prospects, including the quarterbacks, Jackson is waiting to hold private workouts. Yet when it comes to a large talent pool like the one at Ohio State, he attended to get an idea of players the Browns can target in the later rounds.

His presence is a great thing for Buckeyes fans who clamor for the Browns to take some former OSU stars to help in Cleveland. That started a month ago when the Browns signed former Buckeye, Tyvis Powell, and it can continue in April’s draft.

Some Browns fans may be dreaming of a scenario in which the Browns can take Malik Hooker at No. 12 overall, but that is unlikely given how his stock has continued to rise throughout the offseason. Him being available isn’t impossible, just unlikely.

Jackson’s presence at the event may also frustrate fans who believe he should have gone to see Trubisky and Watson, but as stated before, private workouts with quarterbacks are more valuable than seeing them go through a scripted workout at a Pro Day. Plus, Jackson prides himself in working with quarterbacks so he needs a full day to work and meet with a player who he will entrust to run his offense.

Those workouts will happen soon, and will surely continue the discussion of what the Browns will do at No. 12 overall. For now, Jackson will continue to visit Pro Days, as all other coaches do.
