After the expected selection of Myles Garrett, the Cleveland Browns could choose to go defense once again by selecting Malik Hooker.

It seems safe to say that the Cleveland Browns are going to take Myles Garrett with the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

After that, the No. 12 pick remains a mystery. It all comes down to whether the Browns want to take a quarterback early, or would rather focus on improving the defense.

The quarterback option doesn’t seem likely, as the team could likely nab a top quarterback prospect at pick No. 33. At least we will assume that right now.

If the team wants to go defense, as opposed to a player like O.J. Howard at tight end, Malik Hooker would be a great choice. His selection may require trading up, but if the Browns believe he can improve the secondary right away, it would be a smart move.

Hooker is a top prospect in the eyes of Browns fans who are also Ohio State fans, but the love is not unwarranted. The question is how early a team is willing to take Hooker, as the Browns likely wouldn’t trade up to pick No. 2 or No. 3 to get him.

While he is a fan favorite to take because of the Ohio State connection, Hooker is just one of many players who could be taken by the Browns with the team’s second pick in the first round. He would be a solid choice, but it may be difficult to get him if his stock keeps rising.

Let’s take a look at Hooker and more in today’s edition of the Daily Dawg Tags.
