Cleveland Browns fans now know the 2017 schedule, but the lack of a primetime game shows how far this team must go to earn any national respect.

The 2017 Cleveland Browns schedule was released last night, and fans were met with the news that the team doesn’t have a single primetime game in 2017. There is the game in London, but a 9:30 a.m. start across the Atlantic isn’t much to look forward to.

The Browns usually got the annual Thursday night game, but that is no more in 2017. It is surprising given the fact the Browns own the No. 1 pick this year, although they still aren’t expected to do well in the standings.

The lack of a primetime game isn’t surprising, but rather serves as a reminder of how far this team has to go to even be considered for a nationally televised game. The lack of one in 2017 doesn’t mean the team can’t surprise us with a great season, and continues the streak of the Browns entering the season as major underdogs in the season opener.

The good news is that the front office seems to have a solid plan for turning this team around, and we will all see the plan continue next Thursday during the NFL Draft. Let’s take a look at this news and more in today’s edition of the Daily Dawg Tags.
