The Cleveland Browns will open the 2017 NFL Draft by making the first overall selection, but there are plenty of other players to keep an eye on after the first round.

The Cleveland Browns will open the 2017 NFL Draft on Thursday night by making the first overall selection of the evening.  They will follow that up by selecting again at No. 12 – unless they make a move up (or down) in the first round.

With so much attention focused on what Cleveland will do with those first two picks, it has been easy to lose sight of the fact that there will still be six more rounds to come after Thursday night.

The Browns currently hold 11 draft selections overall, including:

  • Round 2: No. 33 and No. 52
  • Round 3: No. 65
  • Round 4: No. 108.
  • Round 5: No. 145, No. 175 and No. 181
  • Round 6: No. 185 and No. 188

While the Browns need to hit on both of their first-round picks this year, they also must walk out of the draft as a whole as a stronger team. The team began exercising former general manager Ray Farmer’s mistakes during the 2016 NFL Draft, now they need to build on that.

Luckily, there should be several talented players available as the executive vice president of football operations Sashi Brown navigates his way through his second draft. Here are five, in no particular order, that Browns fans should keep an eye on after the first day of the draft.
