The Browns would be ecstatic grabbing Wilson with their third-round pick. He is a bigger, physical cornerback that can help out Joe Haden and Jamar Taylor. Wilson and Florida teammate Teez Tabor both were ranked among the top cornerbacks in the country but the rise of other defensive backs pushes them down.

Cleveland was impressed with Jamar Taylor‘s play last season and rewarded him with a five-year contract worth $5 million per season. Joe Haden still resides in Cleveland but has been injured for the majority of the last several seasons. The injury-riddled cornerback is one of the best at his position when healthy but that unfortunately hasn’t been the case lately.

Wilson could provide fresh legs and some size at 6-foot-1, 211 pounds. He is the No. 8 rated cornerback according to WalterFootball, only one spot behind Tabor.

The Browns’ secondary was nothing short of atrocious in 2016 and is possibly the highest area of dire need across the roster. Williams and Wilson would be impact players for years to come on this Cleveland defense and would certainly make Gregg Williams a happy camper.

To solidify the defensive line, the Browns select Jaleel Johnson in the fourth round. Johnson would round out their defensive line for years to come with Ogbah, Garrett, Shelton, Desmond Bryant and Carl Nassib.

After climbing his way to a starter amid being red-shirted in 2012, Johnson proved he can be a valuable learner from the bench where he likely would begin his career if taken by the Browns. He would need time to learn the pace of the NFL and gain experience slowly but surely.

The Iowa standout earned first-team All-Conference honors after posting 10 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks. Those statistics were the best among the Iowa Hawkeyes. As noted earlier, the Browns looked for players with accolades on their record and Johnson fits the script. The ability to grow into a role when it presents itself is something that will be viewed as a positive by Cleveland and he would fit nice as a 3-tech on this defense.

The Browns would be set at defensive line with this pick and would likely look to add more defensive backs or a linebacker on the same side of the football.
