The Cleveland Browns finally grabbed a quarterback, selecting Notre Dame’s DeShone Kizer with the No. 52 overall pick. Here’s how Browns fans reacted.

The search for a quarterback in Cleveland just took another twist. The Browns were rumored to have had enormous interest in Mitchell Trubisky but Notre Dame’s DeShone Kizer ended up being the guy as the Browns selected Kizer in the second round.

Kizer has tremendous upside, but his inconsistency in college led to him falling in the draft. Reactions are all over the place from fans in Cleveland, but the Browns went and got their quarterback.

Cleveland now has Kizer, Brock Osweiler, Cody Kessler and Kevin Hogan on their roster at the quarterback position and the competition for the starting gig just became more intense.

The Browns drafted Cody Kessler in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft, traded for Brock Osweiler in March, and have now selected Kizer, making for a crowded quarterback room.  Head coach Hue Jackson has a lot of work to do as these quarterbacks are polar opposites of one another.

Jackson now has the opportunity to develop Kizer into a franchise quarterback. The Toledo-native is a project indeed, but the Browns have a coaching staff in place to make it happen.

At 6-foot-4 and 233 pounds, Kizer has the ideal frame of an AFC North quarterback. Not to mention, he is accustomed to inclement weather from his time playing in high school in Toledo and at Notre Dame.
