Cleveland Browns fans now know the dates and times for the team’s preseason games, and one game in particular will be circled on the calendar.

Cleveland Browns fans have known for a while now the opponents for the upcoming slate of preseason friendlies, but now the actual dates and times have been released.

The NFL released the dates and starting times earlier today for the entire 2017 preseason schedule, a 65-game smorgasbord of starters resting, undrafted free agents looking to make an impression and a bounty of players who will “make a splash” in the final preseason game, only to never be heard from again.

Oh, there will also be eight games shown on national television, starting with the annual Hall of Fame game in Canton, which will take place on Aug. 3 at 8 p.m. between the Dallas Cowboys and the Arizona Cardinals.

As for the Browns, they will play on the following days and times:

  • Aug. 10 at 8 p.m. vs. the New Orleans Saints
  • Aug. 21 at 8 p.m. vs. the New York Giants on ESPN
  • Aug. 26 at 7:30 p.m. on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Aug. 31 at 8 p.m. on the road against the Chicago Bears

It is interesting that the preseason will feature match ups solely against NFC teams. The Monday night game against the Giants is also currently Cleveland’s only national televised appearance for the upcoming season – unless the Browns can win their way into a Sunday night flex telecast later in the season.

The real highlight of the preseason will be the game against the Chicago Bears, however, as it is almost a lock that the contest will feature a battle of rookie quarterbacks as Cleveland’s DeShone Kizer will likely see considerable playing time opposite Chicago’s Mitchell Trubisky.

That game should earn high ratings in Cleveland and is a lock to be seen as a “referendum” on the Browns draft by many media members and fans.

In other words, it will be a party that you won’t want to miss.
