The Cleveland Browns will get their first look at their draft picks and undrafted free agents at this weekend’s three-day rookie minicamp.

The Cleveland Browns will welcome 21 rookies to Berea today for the start of the team’s three-day rookie minicamp.

The weekend will also present the first opportunity for head coach Hue Jackson and the rest of the coaching staff to start indoctrinating the new players into the Browns culture.

It will also give rookie tight end David Njoku a chance to learn who is actually on the coaching staff and who he will be lining up next two on game days, which apparently is something he is a little confused about at the moment, according to left tackle Joe Thomas.

Young tight ends could help Browns offense become more dynamic (clevelandbrowns.com)

"The Browns are still in the thick of offseason workouts, but it’s hard not to look at the kind of offensive weapons Cleveland will have at its disposal next fall. Perhaps most intriguing is the Browns’ new-look tight end group, which added former Miami standout David Njoku, whom they selected with their third and final first-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft."

Browns don’t need to keep waiting for Josh Gordon (ESPN)

"Josh Gordon has been suspended for 43 of the last 48 Cleveland Browns games. Now, his application for readmission to the league has been turned down, though he can apply for reinstatement in the fall. His agent cut ties with him two weeks ago, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson. Where exactly is this ship heading? It’s hard to say, but it shouldn’t end up in Cleveland."

NFL news:

Deshaun Watson may not get a real shot to start for Texans (CBS Sports)

"When the Houston Texans traded up from No. 25 to No. 12 in the 2017 NFL Draft, surrendering a second first-round pick in the process in order to acquire the services of former Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson, it sure seemed like they were leaping up the draft board to select their new starting quarterback. Not so fast, according to longtime Texans bear writer John McClain of the Houston Chronicle."

Who’s putting out disinformation about Colin Kaepernick and why? (The Mercury News)

"Not the first time for this, but the people who seem to know the absolute least about Colin Kaepernick and his football career are yelling the loudest and most right about now. And leaking the most prodigiously."

Unsolved mysteries of the NFL offseason (Bleacher Report)

"The draft is over. Outside of a handful of available stragglers, free agency is, too. Preseason rosters are mostly set. OTAs are underway and minicamps are coming soon. There are no more major moves to be made. Yet mysteries abound across the NFL."

In the NFL, voluntary should mean mandatory (Sporting News)

"The NFL’s OTA season begins next week. That’s always a good time to review the definitions of “voluntary” and “mandatory.” The former refers to the workouts the next three to four weeks. “Mandatory” describes the veteran minicamp teams will hold the first two weeks of June. It’s as if they know what time of year it is. Or, it’s as if they know some player, coach, executive, reporter, commentator or fan is about throw a full-scale tantrum over a player missing a “voluntary” workout."
