The Cleveland Browns can simplify things this offseason by naming Cody Kessler the starting quarterback and focusing attention on the rest of the roster.

As the summer weather rolls in off Lake Erie, Cleveland Browns fans realize that training camp is right around the corner. Well, a few months around the corner.

As always, the main focus is once again on the quarterback position. Cody Kessler has been named the early starter, but the additions of Brock Osweiler and DeShone Kizer to the roster have opened up yet another competition. And don’t forget about Kevin Hogan.

But Hue Jackson and the Browns can make things easy and name Kessler the starting early on during training camp. Given he doesn’t blatantly do anything to lose the job, the offense can begin to build some continuity with Kessler under center.

Kessler may not be the guy to turn this franchise around, but he was solid when he played a year ago. And with Kizer being a rookie and Osweiler likely being gone after this year or even before the year begins, Kessler is the easy choice.

Let’s take a look at that and more in today’s edition of the Daily Dawg Tags.
