The Cleveland Browns don’t have any realistic MVP candidates in 2017, but one article took a look at the top candidates for the award currently on the team.

Perhaps one day in the future Cleveland Browns fans will be bragging about how all the loyalty paid off with a great team and a championship.

Still waiting for that day though.

Browns fans are optimistic as always, and there are reasons to be in 2017. The team added one of the most dominant defensive players to come out of college in several years, along with talent all over the field in what should be a much-improved season after going 1-15 a year ago.

This team doesn’t have anyone who is going to be an MVP candidate, but speculation on the matter is always fun.

A recent article on NFL Spin Zone by Dan Parzych broke down the dark horse MVP candidates on each NFL team, along with the top candidate. For the Browns, the dark horse is surely a surprise.

The article lists Brock Osweiler as the dark horse MVP candidate, which will have Browns fans and fans all over the NFL laughing. However, it fits the description of him being the dark horse, as literally no one would have seen it coming.

From the article:

"Cleveland was willing to take on Osweiler’s ridiculous contract this offseason in order to gain an extra draft pick from the Houston Texans, but based off how the quarterback’s looked over the last few months, many believe he has what it takes to win the starting job. Who knows, maybe a fresh start with the Browns is just what Osweiler needs to finally get the ball rolling, although nothing matters until he proves it during the regular season."

The only problem is that Osweiler likely won’t be the Week 1 starting quarterback, immediately hurting his chances to improve his reputation. But who knows, anything is possible when it comes to the Browns and the quarterback position.

As for the top MVP candidate, Parzych went with Myles Garrett. While Garrett certainly has the most potential of any player on the roster, it may be a few years before he ends up in the MVP voting. It would help if the Browns were better too.
