Cleveland Browns fans will get a good look at Brock Osweiler as he is set to start the team’s preseason opener this Thursday.

The quiet Cleveland Browns offseason turned into a quiet training camp. That all changed Monday when Hue Jackson named Brock Osweiler as the starting quarterback for Thursday’s preseason opener.

Every Browns fan has an opinion on the quarterback position, and Osweiler may be the one with the fewest supporters. However, he has the most experience and is arguably the most qualified to receive this starting job.

Starting the preseason opener doesn’t guarantee he will start Week 1 of the regular season, but a solid performance with the first-team offense would give him the edge over his competition.

Fans of Cody Kessler and DeShone Kizer still shouldn’t be too worried, as both quarterbacks will get some extended playing time Thursday. A bad showing by Osweiler immediately opens the door for one of the two to take that starting spot.

So much uncertainty surrounding the quarterback spot is not ideal, but it is nothing new in Cleveland. We take a look at that and more in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.
