Daily Dawg Tags: The preseason opener has arrived
The Cleveland Browns begin the preseason tonight against the New Orleans Saints, and all eyes will be on the quarterback position.
Today has been circled on the calendars of Cleveland Browns fans for quite some time. Happy preseason opening day!
The Browns will welcome the New Orleans Saints to FirstEnergy Stadium tonight for the first of four preseason games, with the regular season beginning exactly one month from today.
While it will be exciting to see the rookies take the field, all eyes will once again be focused on the play of the quarterbacks. And even though Brock Osweiler is starting tonight’s game, it is still a wide open competition for the starting job.
There are plenty of position battles to keep an eye on, but the one at quarterback remains the most important until the team names a starter for Week 1 of the regular season. And even then, that job isn’t set in stone for the entire season.
The good news is that tonight serves as an opportunity for one of the contenders to seize control of the job and stand out as the best option. We take a look at that and more in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.
