The Cleveland Browns cut Desmond Bryant on Tuesday after he failed to stand out among the crowded pack competing for a job along the defensive line.

Cleveland Browns fans witnessed a great game from Desmond Bryant on Monday night against the New York Giants, but any talk of his play with the team in 2017 has ended as he was cut by the team on Tuesday night.

It is an interesting move to make halfway through the preseason, but perhaps the front office wanted to give the veteran a chance to find a job if he wasn’t in the team’s plans.

Bryant missed all of last season with a torn pectoral muscle, but has been with the team since 2013. His tenure involved the additions of Danny Shelton, Emmanuel Ogbah, Carl Nassib and now Myles Garrett, taking away potential playing time from the veteran.

The Browns brought in a lot of young talent to compete with the veterans, and the youth will continue to win out in close competitions during this rebuilding phase. And to be fair to Bryant, the team added some studs along the defensive line.

The final roster cuts after the fourth preseason game will likely involve some more surprises, so for now let’s take a look at this Bryant news and more in today’s edition of the Daily Dawg Tags.
