The Cleveland Browns open the season this afternoon against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Browns fans are ready to finally talk some actual football.
The Cleveland Browns are finally playing a meaningful football game after yet another offseason filled with countless storylines off the field. No matter the outcome, it is nice to have Browns football back.
But who am I kidding? Let’s get a win today!
The Browns welcome the Pittsburgh Steelers to town and fans are already aware how tough of a matchup that is not only because it is Week 1, but because the Steelers are perennial favorites to make it to and win the Super Bowl.
Yet the hype is real before kickoff, so let’s get some less exciting business out of the way first.
Every game involves inactive players, and the Browns released their list of seven earlier this afternoon.

No real surprises here. It is good to see Myles Garrett on the list as opposed to the IR, while it is interesting to see how far Cody Kessler has fallen since being named the top quarterback just a few months ago.

The main position of concern for this team is the wide receiver position, and fans will likely see a lot of Sammie Coates and Kasen Williams, two newcomers, on the field today. Coates may get more action as he goes up against his former team, while Williams could even play a part on special teams.
The transition from preseason to the regular season always brings some surprises as Hue Jackson didn’t want to show all his tricks in August, while the roster shuffling also means fans will see some players they may never have heard of before.
All the new sights will have fans talking, and we want our readers to have a place to go to share their opinions. So comment on this post during the game to interact with other fans, or reach out to us on Twitter @DawgPoundDaily to share either your excitement or your pain with us in real-time.
